![]() So let’s list out and rank all the Medieval II: Total War factions, to help you get a good grasp of what they offer and where to start a new campaign. I do hope our wait doesn’t become a case of Half-Life 3… I trust CA to never let us down like that.īut if we’re going back to play this classic then you may want some faction ideas for your next playthrough. And kept us eagerly awaiting the inevitable release of Medieval III, which quite frankly, is long overdue. This game marked a “before and after” era on the Total War games, which has shaped them to become what they are today. I’m sure that I’m not just saying this because of a weird case of nostalgia, either. While it has tough initial challenges, which a few can be avoided if you decide to break the alliance with the Western empire when someone declares war on them, over time you build up a truely devastating force and can reconquest the balkans, africa and italy away from a broken West.I will always stand by what I’ve always said: Medieval II is still the best Total War game ever made. With a cool selection of units both on land and sea in addition to being the part of the roman empire that is the most stable. As medieval 2 fans know the byzantines were there and while they had their challenges but they were cool. A long rewarding journey for your people but a rewarding journey and you can become the first true Spanish monarchy.ģ Eastern Rome - byzantines. A tough journey but when you hit what I think is Barcelona in the region of Tarraconensis but when you get their you have a lot of wealthy real estate to work with. They have an arguous journey from their beginnings in Greece against the Eastern Romans to their eventual residence in Spain. We all know that their inital leader Alaric sacked rome. Its the funnest faction to play in Attila in my opinion.Ģ Visigoths - the pre spanish. Overall with the varied units available and with the maneuverability of a horde starting out. Through reading I have learned that their historical Capital is Ravenna which is the city I tend to go for, because historical accuracy. It starts out as a horde which gives you a lot of freedom to maneuver. Able to field both barbarian and Roman units. Over the course I have played with a few factions more than others and these are in my opinion the 3 funnest factions to play in Total War Attila:ġ Ostrogoths - A true hybrid faction. I have done quite a few campaigns and am having fun. While I have been on break from Warhammer games I have been playing some Attila. Think we missed one?
